It’s been just over two weeks since Indiana hired former West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries.
While the new head coach is just getting settled in Bloomington, Indiana, he has a lot of work to do before the season starts in the fall.
DeVries is no stranger to roster reconstructions, having pulled together a nearly brand-new roster at West Virginia last summer ahead of his first season in Morgantown. Among the key pieces in that reconstruction was his son, Tucker DeVries. Tucker is expected to follow his father to Indiana, and while all that’s left is an official announcement, a video from 247 Sports’ Jared Kelly appeared to provide a first look at DeVries in a Hoosiers jersey.

DeVries is seen with former DePaul point guard Conor Enright, who entered the transfer portal. Enright, a portal target for the Hoosiers, will be looking for his third school in four years. He started his career at Drake, having been recruited out of high school by DeVries while he was the head coach of the Bulldogs, and transferred to DePaul last year when DeVries got the West Virginia job.
It’s been pointed out that there are currently no players on Indiana’s roster, with all remaining players from the 2024-25 season graduating or entering the transfer portal. However, senior forward Luke Goode has applied for a fifth year of eligibility and has expressed his desire to play for Indiana again.
In building a roster from scratch, DeVries appears to be looking for familiarity, with DeVries and Enright two of the earliest players to be linked to the Hoosiers this offseason.
