Ohio State legend James Laurinaitis will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, ABC 6 has learned.
Laurinaitis, who is now the OSU linebackers coach, becomes the 29th Buckeye to be so honored.
The National Football Foundation was expected to announce the full 2026 class Wednesday.
Laurinaitis played for the Buckeyes from 2005-2008, and is one of the most decorated linebackers in Ohio State history, boasting some of the following accomplishments:
- 2-time consensus All-American (2006, 2008)
- Unanimous All-American (2007)
- 3-time All-Big Ten (2006-2008)
- 2-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (2007, 2008)
- Winner, Bronko Nagurski Award (2006)
- Winner, Dick Butkus Award (2007)
- Winner, Lott Trophy (2008)

Laurinaitis was drafted by St. Louis in 2009 and played for the Rams until 2015, ending his career in 2016 with the New Orleans Saints.
