Sydney Roosters lock Victor Radley will consult with an independent specialist following his latest head knock, as the club takes a cautious approach to his return to the field.
Head coach Trent Robinson confirmed today that Radley, who has endured a string of concussions in recent seasons, is following a structured return-to-play protocol under strict medical guidance.
“Victor will meet with an independent specialist this week,” Robinson said. “We want to make sure he’s in the best possible condition before taking any steps forward. Player welfare is our top priority.”
Robinson outlined a conservative return-to-play plan for the 26-year-old, who has become a key figure in the Roosters’ forward pack. The plan includes ongoing medical assessments, a gradual increase in training load, and clearance from neurological experts.
Radley’s history of concussions has raised concerns in recent years, and the club has signaled its commitment to his long-term health over short-term performance.
“He’s desperate to be out there, but we need to take every precaution. We’ve got a plan in place that respects both his competitive drive and his wellbeing,” Robinson added.
The Roosters are currently managing several injury concerns as they look to stay in finals contention, and Radley’s availability could be pivotal heading into the back half of the season.
Further updates on Radley’s condition and potential return date are expected following his specialist appointment.
