The Sydney Roosters have been dealt another blow with fresh injury updates to some of their key players.
Sam Walker has suffered a fractured right thumb during training and is expected to be sidelined for about four weeks. This will be a major loss in the halves, and the Roosters may call on Sandon Smith to step into the playmaking role.
Nat Butcher has re-injured his MCL and will now miss around six weeks. His absence will leave a gap in the forward pack, forcing the team to make adjustments in their starting lineup.
Victor Radley is also out after failing a Head Injury Assessment. He is going through the NRL’s concussion protocols and will be reviewed by an independent specialist before he can return.
With several key players out, the Roosters will need to rely on younger or less experienced players to step up in the coming rounds. The club will be hoping for a smooth recovery for their injured stars as they push towards the finals.
