With the 2025 NRL season entering its second half, rival clubs have begun circling Penrith Panthers forwards Harrison Hassett and Mavrik Geyer, who are both off-contract at season’s end.
The young duo has shown promise within Penrith’s system, with Geyer in particular drawing attention due to his strong performances in the NSW Cup and increasing involvement in the Panthers’ extended squad. Hassett, a consistent performer in the forward pack, is also seen as a valuable development asset.
Several NRL clubs are believed to be monitoring the situation closely, eyeing the chance to bolster their rosters with emerging talent. Penrith, known for its strong junior development, faces a familiar challenge: keeping rising stars in a tightly managed salary cap structure.
As the November 1 free agency deadline approaches, both players could become key targets in what’s shaping up to be a competitive off-season recruitment window.
