Toronto Raptors guard Gradey Dick is done for the season with a bone bruise in his right knee, head coach Darko Rajakovic said Friday, according to Sportsnet’s Blake Murphy.
Dick sustained the bone bruise as a result of when he hyperextended his knee against the Orlando Magic on March 2. He missed the last 16 games due to the injury.
The 21-year-old took a significant leap in his second NBA season, averaging 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while playing 29.4 minutes. He also became a regular in the Raptors’ opening lineup, starting in all 54 of his appearances this campaign.
Raptors forward Scottie Barnes will also be out for Friday’s game against the Detroit Pistons with a hand injury.
Rajakovic also said the team’s hoping Brandon Ingram, who Toronto acquired in February, will progress to full contact and full practice next week. However, he added that he’s unsure if he’ll make his team debut this season as he recovers from a left ankle sprain.
The Raptors sit 11th in the East at 28-49 and have already been eliminated from playoff contention.
