In a groundbreaking move, the ARL Commission has officially approved the Penrith Panthers’ bold bid to host the 2026 NRL Grand Final at their home ground, BlueBet Stadium.
This marks the first time in NRL history that the Grand Final will be held outside of Sydney’s Accor Stadium, and fans across the western suburbs are already celebrating the decision.
Panthers CEO Matt Cameron called the win a “massive moment for the community.”

The club has promised a week-long fan festival leading up to the Grand Final, with live music, open training sessions, and appearances by current and former Panthers legends.
NRL Chairman Peter V’landys praised the bid, saying it aligns with the league’s vision to reward strong-performing clubs and bring the game closer to local communities.

Capacity at BlueBet Stadium will be temporarily increased to over 30,000 for the event, with major infrastructure upgrades and transport plans already in the works.
