In a stunning move that has left Panthers fans celebrating and rivals shaking their heads, the NRL has reportedly introduced a controversial new policy known as the ‘Dynasty Rule’, automatically awarding the Penrith Panthers the premiership title for the next five seasons.
The decision comes after Penrith’s dominant run in recent years, with league officials allegedly stating, “No one’s stopping them anyway, so we might as well save time.”
Nathan Cleary welcomed the news with a grin, saying, “We’ll still play every game — but now we can do it with a bit more flair and a bit less stress.”
Coach Ivan Cleary added, “It’s nice to see hard work rewarded — and maybe now we can finally install that trophy cabinet extension we’ve been planning.”
Panthers fans have taken to the streets in celebration, donning five premiership rings at once, while rival clubs are reportedly forming a coalition to challenge the rule — and possibly Cleary’s right boot — in court.
