The Penrith Panthers have officially announced their line-up for their debut in the NSW Women’s Premiership, marking a historic milestone for the club as it launches into elite women’s rugby league.
Set to face the Central Coast Roosters on Sunday, July 6 at Woy Woy Oval, the Panthers women’s side is led by head coach Karen Stuart and captain Kahu Cassidy. The 17-player squad features a mix of emerging local talent and experienced players ready to make their mark on the state’s premier women’s competition.
“This is a momentous step forward for our club and for women’s rugby league in the region,” said Panthers Rugby League CEO Matt Cameron. “We’re incredibly proud of the players, coaching staff, and everyone who’s worked behind the scenes to make this a reality.”
The Panthers have long invested in female pathways, and the move into the senior women’s competition is a natural progression. The team has been training intensively in recent months, with the club reporting strong internal trials and growing fan support.
Sunday’s match against the Central Coast Roosters kicks off at 12:15 PM and will be the first official fixture in what the Panthers hope will be a long and successful campaign in the competition.
Fans are encouraged to attend and show their support for a team already being described as a bold new chapter in the club’s storied history.
