Parramatta Eels Land Zac Lomax on Four-Year Deal Worth Reported $2.4 Million Starting 2025

The Parramatta Eels have made a major splash in the player market, securing the signature of Dragons star Zac Lomax on a four-year deal reportedly worth $2.4 million. The contract, set to begin in the 2025 NRL season, signals a significant investment by the club as they look to strengthen their roster following a challenging 2024 campaign.

Lomax, 24, is widely regarded as one of the most dynamic outside backs in the competition, known for his athleticism, aerial prowess, and strong defensive presence. His move to Parramatta has been the subject of speculation for months, with the club now officially confirming his arrival.

Eels officials see Lomax as a key piece in their long-term rebuild, especially with marquee five-eighth Dylan Brown set to join the Newcastle Knights in 2026 on a record-breaking deal. Lomax is expected to bring immediate impact to the backline and provide leadership to a developing squad.

“Zac is a quality player who brings experience, competitiveness, and versatility to our team,” said Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill. “We’re thrilled to have him on board as we continue to build a strong future at this club.”

Lomax has played over 100 NRL games for the St. George Illawarra Dragons and has previously been in contention for State of Origin selection for New South Wales. His departure from the Dragons comes as the club looks to undergo its own rebuild under new coaching leadership.

With Lomax’s arrival and ongoing recruitment moves—including the possible signing of Lachlan Galvin and the recent addition of Dylan Walker—the Eels are clearly aiming to reshape their spine and backline heading into 2025 and beyond.

Fans are hopeful that Lomax’s addition will reignite the team’s finals aspirations and provide the spark needed to return to premiership contention.
