Panthers Forward Secures Multi-Million Deal with Parramatta Eels

The long-running contract saga is finally over, with a key Penrith Panthers forward officially putting pen to paper on a multi-million dollar move to arch-rivals Parramatta Eels.

After weeks of speculation and mounting pressure from both clubs, the forward has accepted Parramatta’s lucrative offer, securing his future on a deal reported to span multiple seasons.

The signing represents one of the biggest recruitment wins for the Eels in recent years as they look to rebuild their forward pack and return to premiership contention.

The player, who has been a mainstay in Penrith’s powerhouse pack during their dominant run, was heavily courted by several clubs but the Eels’ persistence and financial firepower ultimately proved decisive.

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur hailed the signing as a major coup for the club.

“He’s a proven performer at the highest level and someone who knows what it takes to win,” Arthur said. “We’ve been very clear about the kind of player we wanted to bring in, and he ticks every box. Not only will he add impact in the middle, but his leadership and experience will be invaluable for our young squad.”

The forward’s departure will be a bitter blow for the Panthers, who have already lost several key players to salary cap pressures following their recent success. While Penrith were keen to retain him, the Eels’ long-term offer was simply too strong to match.

In a statement, the player expressed gratitude to Penrith while looking ahead to his new chapter in blue and gold.

“I owe a lot to the Panthers for everything they’ve done for me, but I’m really excited about this next opportunity with Parramatta,” he said. “It’s a fresh challenge and I can’t wait to get stuck in and do my best for the club and the fans.”

The deal is expected to be officially registered with the NRL in the coming days, with the Eels confident their new signing will play a central role in reshaping the side for the 2026 season and beyond.
