Reece Walsh Signs Richest Deal in Brisbane Broncos History

The Brisbane Broncos have locked in their superstar fullback for the long haul, with Reece Walsh signing the most lucrative contract in the club’s history.

The 22-year-old, who has become one of the NRL’s most electrifying players, has put pen to paper on a mega extension that will keep him at Red Hill for the next five seasons. While the Broncos have not officially disclosed the figures, reports suggest the deal is worth well over $5 million — eclipsing previous records held by the club.

Walsh signs monster Broncos extension

A generational talent
Since returning to Brisbane in 2023, Walsh has lit up the competition with his blistering speed, sharp footwork, and game-changing plays. His performances have not only made him a fan favourite but also a key figure in the Broncos’ push for premiership glory.

Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said securing Walsh’s future was a top priority.

“Reece is a special talent, the kind of player you can build a team around. He’s committed to our vision, and this deal reflects how important he is to the Broncos and our supporters,” Donaghy said.

Walsh’s rise to stardom
After debuting with the New Zealand Warriors in 2021, Walsh’s potential was clear from the outset. His return to Brisbane sparked an immediate resurgence for the Broncos, culminating in a grand final appearance last season. His State of Origin heroics for Queensland further cemented his status as one of the most marketable and dangerous players in the game.

Walsh ready for more
Speaking after the signing, Walsh expressed his excitement for the future.

“The Broncos are home for me. I want to win premierships here and repay the faith the club and the fans have shown in me,” Walsh said. “We’ve got a special group and I’m confident we can achieve something great.”

With the NRL salary cap continuing to rise, deals of this magnitude may soon become the norm — but for now, Reece Walsh stands alone as the highest-paid Bronco in history, ready to chase both silverware and greatness.
