The NRL is investigating the Penrith Panthers after team information was leaked before an official announcement.
It’s believed that news about player James Fisher-Harris being ruled out was shared early, which caused a big drop in betting odds. This has raised concerns about possible inside information being used for gambling.
The NRL Integrity Unit is now looking into who may have shared the leak. The Panthers are working with the NRL during the investigation.
NRL boss Andrew Abdo said they are taking it seriously and will act if rules were broken.
Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said the club is supporting the investigation and wants to find out what happened.
No one has been charged yet, but interviews will be held soon.
