The Parramatta Eels have been dealt an early setback ahead of the 2026 NRL season, with their latest high-profile signing set to miss the opening rounds through injury.
The recruit, who joined the club in the off-season as part of a major roster overhaul, has been sidelined after sustaining an injury during pre-season training. While the exact timeline for his recovery has not been confirmed, medical staff expect he will be unavailable for the start of the new campaign.

It’s a frustrating blow for the Eels, who had hoped the new addition would provide an immediate impact as the club looks to rebound after an inconsistent 2025 season.
Despite the setback, Parramatta officials remain confident the signing will play a significant role once fully fit. “It’s disappointing timing, but we’re taking a long-term view,” a team spokesperson said. “We believe he’ll be an important part of our success in 2026 and beyond.”
The Eels open their 2026 campaign in March, and fans will now have to wait a little longer to see their new star in blue and gold.
