JUST IN: Brisbane Broncos Star Payne Haas Makes Intriguing Comments About Future With Club

One of the NRL’s most dominant forwards, Payne Haas, has set tongues wagging with fresh comments about his contract future — suggesting he may be leaning toward staying with the Brisbane Broncos beyond the 2025 season.

With his current deal set to expire at the end of next year, Haas has yet to officially put pen to paper. However, when asked today about his plans, the Broncos enforcer said:

> “I’ve built something here in Brisbane. I love the club, the fans, and the boys. There’s still a lot to work through, but I wouldn’t rule anything out.”

The comments have sparked immediate speculation, especially as the Broncos face salary cap pressure heading into the 2026 season. Haas remains one of the most sought-after players in the game, with rival clubs reportedly offering multimillion-dollar deals to lure him away.

Despite this, sources close to the club say the Broncos are confident they can secure the 24-year-old prop’s signature, with one official stating:

> “We’ve always said we want Payne here long term — we’re doing everything possible to make that happen.”

Broncos Off-Contract Situation Heating Up

Haas isn’t the only big name still unsigned past 2025. Star centres Selwyn Cobbo and Kotoni Staggs are also yet to receive formal extensions, leaving fans anxious as the November 1 deadline looms — the date when off-contract players can negotiate freely with rival clubs.

Club insiders remain hopeful, but acknowledge that “tough decisions” may be coming.

What It Means

If Haas recommits, it would be a massive win for the Broncos, who have been building around their young forward pack for years. But with multiple high-profile players also off-contract, the club’s front office is walking a tightrope.
