It’s been a mixed bag for head coach Jason Ryles in his debut year at the helm of the Eels, with the team once again missing the finals.
But it hasn’t been all bad news for the rookie coach, whose team has produced moments of brilliance despite the ultimate result.
In fact, one Eels legend has said that Parramatta are facing a headache brought on by an influx of talent at the club.

The Parramatta Eels are set to miss the NRL finals for another year, but the team is looking to be one of the most promising squads in the league going forward.
According to club legend Nathan Hindmarsh, coach Jason Ryles is even facing a headache due to have too much talent to sort through.
“I think Rylesy has a bit of a headache though at fullback with Papali’i. He’s had two games at fullback and he’s impressed,” Hindmarsh said of Joash Papali’i, who has donned the Eels’ number one jersey recently.
“I know Iongi has been very good as well.”
“Well he’s been their best player this year, Iongi,” added fellow NRL legend Matty Johns.
“If you can make that work, if you look at some of the very best sides, the six and the one are interchangeable. You just have to work out who picks up the defensive responsibilities.”
NRL Rookie of the Year contender Isaiah Iongi suffered a season-ending injury two weeks ago, opening the door for Papali’i’s return to form.
