Middlesbrough have been approached by Feyenoord over a potential deal for Rav van den Berg, according to Voetbal International.
Middlesbrough are fighting to keep hold of one of their star players this summer, with Rav van den Berg being subject to regular speculation regarding his future.
It is now being reported by Voetbal International that Dutch club Feyenoord are the latest side interested in the defender. They state the Eredivisie giants have approached Boro with the intention of lodging a bid in their new centre-back search.
The Dutchman has been with Boro since 2023, where he made the move from his native country, playing for PEC Zwolle. Since then, he has become one of the key players at the club, being a regular starter under former boss Michael Carrick.

His excellent Middlesbrough form has also earned him multiple call-ups to the Netherlands U21 side, where he also featured for them at the U21 European Championships this summer, where they lost to England in the semi-finals.
With Feyenoord the latest club to be interested in van den Berg, new Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards may struggle to keep him at the club. Boro get their Championship campaign underway next month, with a home tie against Swansea City.
Van den Berg has earned a move to a top club
Despite Van Den Berg’s contract lasting until 2027, it looks like he could leave the club this summer. However, over the last two seasons, he has proven he is one of the best defenders in the Championship.
In both of his seasons at Middlesbrough, they have narrowly missed out on the play-offs, with Van Den Berg still managing to stand out in their side. During his two years on Teesside, he has made 66 appearances, being a regular in the team.
With his high quality performances, it has now attracted interest from clubs both in England and elsewhere, with clubs in Germany and Brentford both being interested in the defender so far this window.
A new start at Middlesbrough under Edwards
At the start of this summer, Middlesbrough’s main priority was finding their replacement for Carrick. This was found in former Luton Town boss Edwards. Their focus has since turned to preparing their squad for the upcoming season.
It has been a quiet transfer window at the Riverside though, with the club still looking to make their first signing. There hasn’t been much movement out either, with Boro’s only departure being Josh Coburn who has made the move to Millwall.
With the new season fast approaching, Middlesbrough will be hoping to keep hold of key players such as van den Berg to give them the best chance to fight for promotion.
