Parramatta City Councillor Kellie Darley has won a legal case related to a huge $4.5 million partnership deal between the Parramatta Council and the Parramatta Eels NRL club.
The $4.5 million deal was created to support community events and boost tourism in the area. However, Darley faced backlash from other councillors and was formally censured for how the deal was handled.
She took the matter to court, claiming the process was unfair and biased. The court agreed, ruling in her favour and overturning the council’s actions.
The deal with the Parramatta Eels will still go ahead, with a focus on community engagement and local benefits.
