George Griffin will depart Castleford Tigers at the end of the season, it has been confirmed, while outside-back Josh Simm has agreed a Super League switch.
Forward Griffin will exit The Jungle at the expiry of his contract, revealed by director of rugby and current interim coach Chris Chester following Castleford’s shock 26-22 win over rivals Wakefield.

“Griff, that’s his last home game for Castleford Tigers and you could see how much that meant to George,” Chester said following Friday’s win.
“He’s been a real good player for this club, and he’s still got two more games to go, but that’s just been an unbelievable effort from everybody.”
Meanwhile, Catalans Dragons have announced the signing of outside-back Simm on a two-year deal ahead of the 2026 Super League season.
A product of St Helens’ academy system, the 24-year-old returned to England with Castleford in 2024 following a stint in Australia.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to play for the Catalans Dragons,” he said.
“Once I heard about the interest and received a phone call from Joel Tomkins about his plans for the future, I was 100% on board from the word go.
“It’s a club I’ve always held in high regard and to get the opportunity to represent them really excites me and my family. I’m looking forward to getting over to France and putting my best foot forward.”
