The Brisbane Broncos are facing several big contract decisions as a number of key players are set to come off contract by the end of the 2026 NRL season.
Players Signed Until End of 2026
Payne Haas: One of the Broncos’ most important forwards, Haas is locked in until the end of 2026.
Ben Hunt: Recently re-joining the Broncos, Hunt is also signed through 2026, adding veteran experience to the squad.
Players Off-Contract or Uncertain in 2026
Cory Paix: The hooker’s contract status is currently unclear. He may become a free agent if no new deal is signed.
Players Unsigned Beyond 2026
Broncos head coach Kevin Walters has acknowledged that while the club wants to keep its strong core of young talent, salary cap pressure will make that difficult. Several key players are not yet signed beyond 2026:
Reece Walsh
Selwyn Cobbo
Ezra Mam
Kotoni Staggs
All of these players are seen as future stars of the club and are likely to attract strong interest from other teams if not re-signed soon.
As 2026 approaches, the Broncos will be under increasing pressure to secure their top talent and plan for the future.
