The spring transfer portal window is opening on Wednesday and the Wisconsin Badgers are already dealing with the effects. First, it was reported that Ball State transfer tight end Tanner Koziol was re-entering the transfer portal.
Now, Idaho transfer wide receiver Mark Hamper is also re-entering the transfer portal just three months after joining the team, per his agent, via 247’s Evan Flood.
“On behalf of our client, Mark Hamper, FLX Sports confirms that Mark has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal,” his agent Emily Stanker shared, via Flood.

As he now explores new opportunities to continue his development on and off the field, he does so with a deep sense of gratitude for his team in Madison.

A redshirt freshman in 2024, Hamper had transferred in from Idaho, joining Ohio State’s Jayden Ballard as the transfer wideouts for the Badgers this offseason.
However, after initially being present during spring ball, Hamper had not been seen over the last few practices, and he’s now heading to the transfer portal in search of a new team.
During the spring, the Badgers have shown solid depth at the receiver position, with Anthony and Ballard being the primarily leaders on the outside.
However, Quincy Burroughs, Chris Brooks, Tyrell Henry, Joseph Griffin, and freshman Eugene Hilton have all provided competition in the room as well, as they fight to crack the rotation at receiver.
Hamper will have three years of eligibility at his next destination.
