Breaking News: Parramatta Eels Re-Sign Stars and Secure Rising Talent

The Parramatta Eels have delivered a major boost to their 2026 NRL campaign, announcing the re-signing of several key players alongside the addition of a highly-rated young prospect.

The club confirmed on Tuesday that a number of its core stars have committed their futures to Parramatta, solidifying the team’s roster and providing much-needed stability after a turbulent 2025 season.

Among those extending their stays are captain Clint Gutherson, representative forward Junior Paulo, and dynamic winger Maika Sivo, each signing multi-year deals that will keep them in blue and gold until at least the end of the 2027 season.

In addition, the Eels have secured the signature of a rising teenage halfback from their development system — widely regarded as one of the most promising young playmakers in the state.

Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill described the announcement as a turning point for the club’s future.

“This is a statement of intent,” O’Neill said. “We’re committed to retaining our leaders while continuing to develop the next generation of Eels players who will carry this club forward. The balance of experience and youth is crucial to our long-term success.”

The Eels’ retention drive comes after months of speculation about potential roster changes, with several big-name players previously linked to rival clubs. Re-signing their core leaders ensures continuity under head coach Brad Arthur, who has made it clear that consistency and depth will be key to returning to finals contention in 2026.

“We’ve got the right mix now,” Arthur said. “The boys love playing for this club, and we’re building something that will last. The young guys are learning from the best, and that’s how you build a winning culture.”

NRL analysts have praised the Eels’ proactive approach, noting that securing stars early in the off-season sends a strong message to both fans and potential recruits.

The new deals also coincide with the launch of Parramatta’s 2026 membership campaign, with the club hoping to ride a wave of optimism into the preseason.

With key players locked in and fresh talent emerging, the Eels appear determined to re-establish themselves as one of the NRL’s genuine contenders — and their latest announcement might just be the spark they needed.
