Penrith Panthers player Asu Kepaoa has spoken out as his contract nears its end, making it clear he wants to stay at the club.
Kepaoa, who joined the Panthers in 2024, is off-contract at the end of the 2025 season and hasn’t signed a new deal yet. With November 1 approaching—the date when off-contract players can talk to other clubs—his future remains uncertain.
Despite a tough year off the field, including a driving offence, Kepaoa has been in strong form in the NSW Cup, scoring tries and making his presence felt. He’s shown he can play both in the forwards and the backline, adding value to Penrith’s depth.
“I’m not here to just fill a jersey,” Kepaoa reportedly said. “I want to prove myself and earn my spot.”
The Panthers are expected to make some big decisions on their roster soon, with several players coming off contract. For now, Kepaoa is focused on finishing the season strong and showing he belongs in Penrith’s plans for 2026 and beyond.
