Zac Lomax Turns Down $1.3 Million Rebel Code Offer, Commits Future to Parramatta Eels

The Parramatta Eels have received a major boost with strike weapon Zac Lomax rejecting a monster $1.3 million-a-season offer from breakaway competition Rugby 360, instead pledging his long-term future to the blue and gold.

The 25-year-old winger had been one of the rebel code’s marquee recruitment targets as it pushes to lure high-profile NRL stars ahead of its proposed 2026 launch. Accepting the deal would have more than doubled his current $650,000 salary and seen him walk away from his Parramatta contract, which runs until 2028.

But Lomax shut down the speculation, making it clear his loyalty lies with the Eels.

“For me, the Eels is the only place that feels like home,” Lomax said.
“I’ve built strong bonds with my teammates and staff, and nothing compares to running out in front of our fans. No amount of money can buy that feeling. I came here to win something special — and I want to stay to make that happen.”

Loyalty Over Dollars

Lomax’s declaration comes at a pivotal time, with several NRL stars weighing up potential code switches or overseas moves. His decision not only locks him into Parramatta’s plans but also reinforces his belief in what coach Brad Arthur is building.

Arthur praised his star winger’s stance, describing it as proof of his character.

“Zac could have easily taken the big money, but he’s chosen loyalty,” Arthur said.
“He believes in this team and this club, and that’s the type of player you want — someone who values the jersey and is determined to bring success to Parramatta.”

Fans Celebrate the Call

Eels supporters flooded social media with praise, hailing Lomax as “the heartbeat of the backline” and branding his commitment “the best signing news of the year.”

While Rugby 360 continues its push to recruit up to 200 players before its debut season, Lomax has made his position clear.

“This club gave me the chance to be part of something great,” he said.
“I see my future here, I see my best football here, and I see my home here. Parramatta is where I belong.”
