“We’re Leaving, But You’ll Never Forget Us” — Panthers Stars Break Silence on Shock Exit

In a heartfelt joint statement that’s sent shockwaves through the rugby league world, Penrith Panthers stars Liam Martin and Dylan Edwards have confirmed they will part ways with the club at the end of the 2025 NRL season.

“We’re leaving, but you’ll never forget us,” Martin said during a press conference earlier this week. “This club made us who we are, and we’re not walking away — we’re stepping forward, carrying everything Penrith gave us.”

Both players have been integral to the Panthers’ dominance in recent seasons, contributing to multiple premiership runs and a culture of discipline and resilience. But with mounting salary cap pressure, their departures had become an inevitability.

Edwards, who has spent his entire career with Penrith, will join the Brisbane Broncos on a multi-year deal. “This was the toughest decision I’ve ever made,” he admitted. “But I’ll give everything I have for this jersey until the very last game.”

Martin, known for his grit and relentless energy in the second row, has reportedly signed with a rival Sydney club on a long-term deal. While the destination hasn’t been officially confirmed, insiders suggest it’s a “fresh challenge he’s earned.”

Head coach Ivan Cleary acknowledged the emotional weight of the exits. “They’ve given everything to this club. And as much as it hurts, we back them 100% and know they’ll leave a legacy.”

With fans rallying behind them, the departing duo say they’re committed to finishing their tenure on a high. “We’re not done yet,” Martin declared. “You’ll see us fight harder than ever — not just for wins, but for each other, and for you.”

As the Panthers push toward the finals, one thing is clear: the memories these stars leave behind will echo long after they’ve gone.
