Three Star Players Down — Here’s How We’re Keeping the Broncos’ Finals Dream Alive

This past week has tested us in ways no one could have predicted. Losing Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam, and Selwyn Cobbo in one match — all to hamstring injuries — wasn’t just a physical blow to the team, it was an emotional one too. These are three of our most explosive players, and their absence changes the shape of our game plan. But what it doesn’t change is our belief.

As soon as the final whistle blew against Melbourne, our mindset shifted. We knew we had to move forward — fast. Scans and medical updates gave us the reality check we needed, but also clarity. This wasn’t the end. It’s a turning point.

The response from the squad has been nothing short of inspiring. Players like Billy Walters and Ben Hunt are stepping into expanded roles. Cory Paix, who’s had a tough year, now has a massive opportunity ahead of him — and he knows it. I’ve seen the hunger in training, the conversations in the locker room, the leadership emerging from voices that are usually quieter. That’s what gives me confidence.

Behind the scenes, our physios and high-performance staff are working around the clock. We’re not rushing anyone back, but we’re making sure every moment counts in rehab and preparation. If we’re going to stay in finals contention, it will take more than skill — it’ll take belief, unity, and relentless effort.

We know the road ahead won’t be easy. Every game is now a must-win. But don’t count us out. This team has fight, and we’ve got unfinished business this season.
