The Penrith Panthers have received a timely boost ahead of the upcoming NRL season, with their fullback agreeing to a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club through the end of 2026.

The extension ensures the Panthers retain stability in one of the most crucial positions on the field, with the fullback role central to both their attacking structures and defensive resilience. Known for his composure under the high ball, strong kick returns, and ability to spark attacking raids from the back, the player has become a key figure in Penrith’s recent success.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary welcomed the news, praising the fullback’s consistency and commitment to the team’s culture.

“He’s an important part of what we do here at Penrith,” Cleary said. “His professionalism and work ethic set a standard for the rest of the squad, and we’re thrilled he’ll continue with us through 2026.”

The one-year extension also reflects Penrith’s careful roster management. With a squad stacked with representative stars and emerging talent, short-term deals provide the club with both financial flexibility and squad depth, while giving players the opportunity to keep proving themselves at the highest level.

For the fullback, the decision to extend his stay represents not only loyalty to the Panthers but also a chance to build further on his career in the blue, black, and white. Having been part of Penrith’s dominant era, he remains determined to contribute to the club’s pursuit of more silverware.

Panthers CEO Matt Cameron said the signing reflected the player’s ongoing value to the club’s success.

“Keeping him in our system through 2026 is a major positive for us,” Cameron said. “He’s an outstanding professional and someone who embodies the values of the Panthers. We know he’ll continue to play a key role in driving our standards both on and off the field.”

Fans have welcomed the news across social media, with many hailing the extension as a sign of the Panthers’ intent to maintain their dominance at the top of the NRL. With the fullback locked in, Penrith’s spine remains among the strongest in the competition heading into another demanding campaign.

As the Panthers prepare for the new season, the extension provides an extra layer of confidence and continuity, ensuring the club’s backline retains both experience and stability. With the deal now secured through 2026, the fullback will once again play a central role in Penrith’s push for premiership glory.
