A Penn State recruiting target in the 2026 class will make his decision soon.
Messiah Hampton, one of the top wide receivers in the 2026 cycle, will reveal his commitment decision on June 13, he announced over the weekend.
Hampton, a four-star prospect from James Monroe (N.Y.), is deciding between Penn State, Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Miami and Syracuse.
Hampton, who went on an official visit to Penn State a couple weeks ago, is the No. 48 overall player, the No. 7 receiver and No. 1 prospect in New York in the 2026 cycle, per on3.
While Penn State is certainly in the mix, Oregon appears to be the favorite to land Hampton, according to on3.
Penn State already has three wide receivers committed in its 2026 recruiting class. Four-star Davion Brown joined three-stars Jahsiear Rogers and Lavar Keys a few weeks ago, giving the Nittany Lions a good foundation at receiver.
But the Nittany Lions would love to add more — especially if it’s a player of Hampton’s caliber.
