It is not a lucky period for the Italians in MXGP: after Mattia Guadagnini also Alberto Forato is forced to skip the MXGP of Sardinia 2025 because of an injury.
Thus continues the troubled start to the season for the Venetian rider conditioned by the blow to the knee taken in the second moto of the MXGP of Argentina. After missing the MXGP in Castilla-la Mancha, Forato had returned to the race in St. Jean d’Angely battling pain and picking up a rainbow point.
The cruciate ligament injury and partial fracture of the tibial plateau, however, will force the 2000-year-old class to stop further in a desperate attempt to avoid an operation that would, in effect, end the Blue’s 2025 season.
The hope is to see the Honda rider back on track as soon as possible even though he will most likely be absent in the Sardinia-Trentino-Switzerland triptych.
A bad blow also for the Italian colors: with Guadagnini and Forato out due to injury it will be only Andrea Bonacorsi to represent the Tricolor at this stage of the MXGP 2025 season. A patrol that, we believe, will still be replenished by a few wildcards between Arco di Trento and Fraeunfeld.
