Joe Stimson praises Castleford Tigers’ spirit as progress laid out

Joe Stimson has spoken glowingly about the spirit and direction at Castleford Tigers, insisting the club is laying genuine foundations for progress as it looks ahead to the next phase of its rebuild.

The experienced forward, who arrived with a reputation for competitiveness and professionalism, believes there is a strong sense of unity developing within the squad — even as Castleford continue to navigate change under head coach Ryan Carr.

“The Spirit Is Real”

Stimson was quick to highlight the attitude inside the playing group, describing a squad determined to restore pride in the jersey.

“There’s a real togetherness here,” Stimson said. “Everyone’s buying into what the coaches are trying to build, and you can feel that every day at training.”

According to Stimson, effort and standards have become non-negotiable, with senior players leading from the front and younger players pushing to prove themselves.

Clear Plan, Clear Expectations

While results ultimately define success, Stimson stressed that progress is already visible in how the Tigers prepare, train and communicate.

He pointed to:

  • Clearer roles across the squad
  • Increased accountability
  • A focus on building resilience rather than shortcuts

“There’s a long-term plan in place,” he added. “And it’s not just talk — you can see it in how we’re working.”

Leadership and Accountability

Stimson also praised the coaching staff for fostering an environment where honesty and responsibility are encouraged. Rather than papering over weaknesses, Castleford are confronting them head-on — something he believes is essential for sustained improvement.

That approach, he says, has helped galvanise the group and strengthen belief despite external noise.

Eyes on the Future

While acknowledging the challenges ahead, Stimson remains confident Castleford are moving in the right direction. He believes that if the Tigers maintain their current standards and togetherness, results will follow.

For supporters craving signs of renewal, Stimson’s comments offer reassurance that change is not only happening — it’s being embraced.

As Castleford continue to rebuild, the message from within the camp is clear: the spirit is strong, the plan is set, and progress is underway. 🐯🔥
