Ipswich Town: Elliott Hewitt extends Mansfield spell

Former Ipswich Town defender Elliott Hewitt has extended his stay at Mansfield for the 2025/26 season.

The 30-year-old has been at the One Call Stadium since 2021, where he was part of the side that won promotion to League One last season.

Elliott Hewitt celebrates winning promotion with Mansfield Town last season.

Hewitt missed most of 2023/24 due to a cruciate knee ligament injury, but has since been a regular for Nigel Clough’s side, making 38 appearances in all competitions as they finished 17th in the third tier in 2024/25.

His contract was due to expire this summer, but an option was triggered for him to remain with the Stags for a fourth campaign, having initially joined from Grimsby.

The Welshman started his career at Macclesfield Town, before he moved to Portman Road for a fee of £250k in 2012.

In total, he played 16 times for the Blues during his spell in Suffolk which included loan stints at Gillingham and Colchester United.

He left Town in the summer of 2015 to join Notts County, where played over 150 games for the Magpies.
