Young Sydney Roosters Centre Will Still Line Up for the Roosters in 2026

A highly regarded young Sydney Roosters centre is set to remain at the club and line up in red, white and blue in 2026, providing welcome stability amid a period of roster change at Bondi.

Despite recent speculation surrounding the club’s long-term plans and the futures of several emerging players, the Roosters are understood to be confident the centre remains firmly part of their vision moving forward. Those close to the situation indicate there has never been serious doubt about his place beyond the current season.

The young back has impressed internally with his development, professionalism, and ability to handle the defensive demands of the NRL level — qualities the Roosters place significant value on, particularly under their evolving coaching structure.

While competition for backline spots remains fierce, the club sees the centre as a long-term piece rather than a trade asset. His versatility and composure have strengthened his standing, even as recruitment and squad reshuffling continue around him.

Importantly, the decision to retain the young centre reflects a broader shift in the Roosters’ approach. Rather than leaning solely on marquee names, the club is placing increased emphasis on continuity and internal growth, ensuring promising talent is not lost during transition phases.

Club insiders have also downplayed any suggestion of unrest, describing the player as settled and focused on cementing his role. With the Roosters prioritising development pathways, his retention is viewed as a vote of confidence rather than a holding pattern.

As the 2026 season comes into clearer focus, the message from Bondi is one of control and clarity. Amid change, the Roosters are determined to protect the foundations of their future — and that includes ensuring their next generation remains firmly in place.

For supporters, it’s a quiet but important confirmation: the Roosters’ future backline will still feature familiar faces, not just new arrivals.
