Raiders Close in on Penrith’s Daine Laurie for Multi-Year Deal

Penrith utility Daine Laurie is on the verge of moving to Canberra on a multi-year deal.
Sport Confidential is reporting that the Raiders are in advanced discussions with Laurie over a deal that could stretch to three years.
He is off contract at the end of the season with the Panthers and it is understood he is open to a move to the nation’s capital, where coach Ricky Stuart is building a premiership contender.
The 26-year-old has played 75 games in the NRL over two stints at Penrith and one at the Wests Tigers. He has been named as 18th man for the Panthers on Sunday.

Canberra is closing in on a key backline signing, with Penrith utility Daine Laurie reportedly on the verge of joining the Raiders on a multi-year contract.

According to Sport Confidential, the Raiders are in advanced discussions with the 26-year-old, with a deal believed to span up to three years. Laurie comes off contract with the Panthers at the end of the current season and is said to be open to a move to the nation’s capital, where coach Ricky Stuart is assembling a roster capable of challenging for the premiership.

Laurie, who can play fullback, five-eighth, or in the centres, has 75 NRL appearances to his name across two stints with Penrith and a two-year run at the Wests Tigers. His versatility and attacking spark have made him an appealing option for the Raiders, who continue to strengthen their depth ahead of 2026.

Currently, Laurie has been named as 18th man for the Panthers’ clash this Sunday, but his future increasingly looks set to lie in green.

If completed, the move would reunite Laurie with former Penrith teammates and give the Raiders another dynamic back capable of breaking a game open — a key ingredient as Stuart’s side pushes toward genuine title contention.
