In a major boost to their roster, the Parramatta Eels have officially secured the services of rising star Lachlan Calvin on a three-year deal reportedly worth $1.5 million.
The 22-year-old playmaker, considered one of the NRL’s most promising young talents, will remain with the Eels through the end of the 2028 season. Sources close to the deal say it includes performance-based incentives and a player option in the final year, giving Calvin flexibility while rewarding continued growth.
Eels head coach Brad Arthur welcomed the signing, calling Calvin “a game-changer with leadership qualities well beyond his years.”
“Lachlan has shown tremendous potential, and we’re excited about what he’ll bring to our squad over the next few seasons,” Arthur said.
Calvin made his NRL debut in 2023 and quickly caught the attention of fans and scouts alike with his vision, kicking game, and defensive toughness. Locking him in long-term is seen as a strategic move as the Eels aim to build a premiership-contending team around young talent.
In a brief statement, Calvin expressed his excitement: “I’m grateful for the opportunity and the faith the Eels have shown in me. I’m committed to giving my best every week and helping bring success to this club.”
The signing sends a strong message to rivals that the Eels are serious about their future, with Calvin expected to play a central role in the team’s spine moving forward.
