In a moment of pride and celebration for the Parramatta faithful, the club has officially announced plans to erect a bronze statue in honor of Eels legend Nathan Hindmarsh—one of the most beloved and respected players in NRL history.
The long-awaited tribute will soon become a permanent fixture outside CommBank Stadium, with construction set to begin later this year, according to club officials.
> “Nathan is the heart and soul of the blue and gold,” said Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos. “His relentless work ethic, loyalty to the club, and unmatched connection with the fans made this decision an easy one. It’s overdue, and it’s time he takes his rightful place alongside other greats.”

Social media erupted within minutes of the announcement, with fans calling it “the statue we’ve been waiting for” and “a fitting tribute to a modern-day gladiator.” Former teammates and media personalities alike have backed the move, with some joking the statue should come complete with his trademark shorts hitch and “cheeky plumber’s crack.”
