The Brisbane Broncos have secured the services of rising star Cory Paix, signing the hooker to a new contract extension reportedly worth $400,000 per year.
The deal reflects Paix’s growing importance in the squad under coach Michael Maguire, who has elevated the 25-year-old to a central role in the team’s spine. Paix has impressed with his consistent defensive work rate and sharp service out of dummy-half, stepping up during a critical transition phase for the club.
Club insiders confirmed that the new contract will run through the end of the 2027 season, giving the Broncos stability at the No. 9 position amid ongoing changes in their halves and forward rotations.
> “Cory has earned this extension through hard work and resilience,” Maguire said. “He’s a cornerstone of what we’re building here.”
Paix, who debuted for the Broncos in 2020, said he was “honoured to continue representing Brisbane” and is focused on helping the club return to premiership contention.
The extension also signals the Broncos’ intent to invest in homegrown talent while managing tight salary cap constraints amid negotiations with other key players like Adam Reynolds and Reece Walsh.
