Texas A&M football gets commitment from Northwestern DE

(KBTX) – The Texas A&M football team received the commitment of Northwestern transfer defensive end Anto Saka on Wednesday, Saka confirmed on social media.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound edge rusher tallied 13 tackles, including four tackles for loss and three sacks last season. Saka played 347 snaps last season, tallying 27 total pressures, including six quarterback hits and 17 hurries, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Townson, Md. native was a 4-star prospect out of the transfer portal this year, ranked No. 13 nationally among transfer edge rushers, according to 247Sports.com. Out of Loyola Blakefield High School, Saka was also a 4-star recruit.

Saka is the third defensive end the Aggies have claimed via transfer this portal window, including Colorado end Brandon Davis-Swain and San Diego State’s Ryan Henderson.

The Aggies will need to replace edge rushers Cashius Howell and Dayon Hayes, both of whom have expired eligibility.
