Liam Henry quits Penrith to join Perth Bears

Premiership-winning forward Liam Henry will leave the Penrith Panthers at the end of the 2026 season.

Henry has signed a four-year deal with the Perth Bears and will join the club for its inaugural season in 2027.

“This is another proud day for the Perth Bears,” Bears Head Coach Mal Meninga said.

“Liam is one of the most exciting middle forward prospects in the NRL and I am ecstatic to have him as part of our inaugural roster.”

Henry has played 50 first grade games for Penrith and was a member of the club’s 2024 Grand Final team.

He had been linked with a move to the Bears for some time.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to be a part of history and continue my career with the Perth Bears from 2027,” Henry said.

“It’s not every day you get the chance to be a part of a new team in a new city and it’s that opportunity that excites me the most.”

Henry will see out the final year of his contract with Penrith in 2026 before heading west.
