Kikau Kicks-On: Bulldogs Re-Sign Fijian Powerhouse

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are thrilled to announce powerhouse forward Viliame Kikau has signed a two-year extension that will keep him at the Club until at least the end of 2028.

As one of the NRL’s premier back-rowers, Kikau has been instrumental in the Bulldogs’ resurgence over the past two seasons and was awarded the Dr. George Peponis Medal in 2024.

The 30-year-old Fijian international is coming off one of his best seasons to date after averaging over 100 run metres and 26 tackles per game, while also topping the competition in charge-downs.

He’s also become a senior leader in Cameron Ciraldo’s squad, stepping up to captain the Bulldogs on numerous occasions throughout the 2025 season.

Kikau was excited to share the news of his extension.

“I’m very happy to be staying at the Bulldogs,” he said.

“This Club has embraced my family and I since day one so it was an easy decision to re-sign.

I love being part of what we’re building here. We’ve made great progress over the past couple of years, but we want to achieve more – I want to help this Club win its next premiership.

Meanwhile, Bulldogs General Manager of Football Phil Gould AM highlighted Kikau’s influence both on and off the field.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to secure Viliame’s services for another two years,” Gould said.

“Since arriving at the Club, Viliame has been everything we hoped for and more. He’s a genuine leader, a wonderful person and one of the most destructive players in the competition.

Beyond his on-field performances, Viliame’s work with the Kikau Academy demonstrates his genuine passion for giving back to the game and helping develop the next generation of Fijian talent.

“We’re proud to call Viliame a Bulldog and are excited that he’s with us for the long-haul.”
