After leaving a space in their confirmed squad number list for the 2026 season Castleford Tigers have filled it with the signing of hard running Featherstone Rovers forward Jimmy Beckett.
The 26-year-old prop forward is seen as another important figure to beef up the Tigers’ pack for the forthcoming Super League campaign.
Making 31 appearances for Featherstone 2025, he was a key part of a side that made the Championship play-offs and the 1895 Cup final.

Beckett has also played for Keighley Cougars, Oldham and Dewsbury Rams and sees the move to Cas as his biggest opportunity to see how far he can go in the sport.

On the confirmation of his signing for the club, he said: “It’s a good feeling.
“It’s my first time in a full-time setup so see how I’m going to progress and that it’s going to bring out the best in me.
“Let’s get after a successful 2026.”
Tigers director of rugby Chris Chester said: “We’re delighted to bring Jimmy to the Castleford Tigers.
“Jimmy had a great year at Featherstone Rovers last year and he’s a player that both myself and Ryan think will really kick on here.
“He is only 26 years old and has plenty of years ahead of him – and under Ryan’s guidance, we’re hoping he really kicks on and makes himself a Super League regular at Castleford.
“Jimmy works hard on both sides of the ball and we’re confident he will play a big part at the Tigers in the next few years.”
Beckett has already linked up with Ryan Carr’s side, with preparations for the 2026 campaign well under way and will be in contention for a place in the team to play in the first of the club’s pre-season friendlies this weekend.
Fans will get their first chance to see some of the new boys when Cas play their first pre-season game at home against Oldham this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
The Tigers will also play Leeds Rhinos at home in a testimonial match for Brad Singleton on January 18 and will face St Helens at the Brewdog Stadium on January 24 in the last of their warm-up matches.
