Castleford Tigers are releasing their 2026 squad numbers throughout December, with their latest reveal seeing one of their brightest stars given yet another rise in the pecking order.
Fletcher Rooney will wear the 18 jersey next year, highlighting the potential the club see in him to become a regular name on the Tigers team sheet.

Making his debut in the final game of 2023, the playmaker, who will turn 20 in January, has made 12 senior appearances to date, crossing four times.
Primarily used at full-back, he alongside Jenson Windley, are two of the club’s biggest prospects, with Castleford hoping that the homegrown pair will be established first-team players for years to come.
Windley was given the number 24 jersey, which is a slight rise from the 27 he wore this season. Rooney meanwhile, has gone from the 31 shirt in his debut year, to 23 in 2025, and will now be lurking just outside the 17 next year.

Whilst Rooney will take the 18 jersey, the club also confirmed that top flight stalwart, Brad Singleton, will don the 19 shirt, a number he has previously worn in his career.
Singleton wore that number in Leeds Rhinos’ treble winning 2015 season, and was a key part of the side’s forward pack that year. Playing in 34 of their 36 games, he was a try scorer in the Wembley final against Hull KR, whom they beat 50-0.
Also announced recently have been new signing Aidan Doolan, who will wear 20 after returning to the UK after a stint in Australia, and Louis Senior, who shifts from 22 to 21, taking up the vacant spot left by Sylvester Namo.
