Castleford Tigers are in discussions over a potential move for Featherstone Rovers forward Jimmy Beckett as they look to complete their pack for the 2026 season.
Love Rugby League understands that the Tigers’ search for an additional forward to strengthen Ryan Carr’s squad has led them to one of the Championship’s standout performers in 2025, with Beckett emerging as a key transfer target.
Beckett is available after Featherstone’s well-documented financial difficulties, which have left players unpaid for September, October and November. The club has since entered administration and currently has no contracted players in place for 2026, leaving Beckett free to explore other opportunities.

The forward has spent his entire career outside of Super League, coming through the community game with Featherstone Lions before enjoying spells at Oldham, Dewsbury Rams and Keighley, alongside two stints with Featherstone Rovers.
However, it is over the past two seasons that Beckett has truly established himself as one of the top forwards outside the elite competition. He was a near ever-present in 2025, making 31 appearances across all competitions as Featherstone reached the Championship play-offs and the final of the 1895 Cup.
While Beckett had been expected to remain with Rovers, their off-field turmoil has alerted rival clubs to his availability — and Castleford now appear ready to act.
Should the move go through, Beckett would become the latest addition to the Tigers’ forward pack for 2026. Renouf Atoni and Jack Ashworth have already been secured, with Liam Hood and Brock Greacen also joining ahead of Carr’s first season in charge.
Beckett could now be next, with Castleford offering the hardworking forward the chance to earn his long-awaited opportunity at Super League level. 🐯
