Former Clemson wide receiver Troy Stellato is expected to transfer to Kentucky, according to 247Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz. Stellato, standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 190 pounds, had 25 receptions for 264 yards and a touchdown during his junior season at Clemson. Over his three-year college career, he has accumulated 66 catches for 616 yards and two touchdowns.
One of Stellato’s standout games came in the 2023 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, where he caught five passes for 58 yards in Clemson’s 38-35 victory over Kentucky. A top-300 transfer and one of the top 60 wide receivers in the portal, according to 247Sports, Stellato chose Kentucky over Michigan and West Virginia.
The Wildcats have experienced significant turnover at wide receiver, losing four of their top five pass-catchers from last season, including Dane Key (Nebraska), Barion Brown (LSU), Hardley Gilmore IV (Nebraska), and running back Demie Sumo-Karngbaye, who graduated. Stellato is the third wide receiver Kentucky has added through the transfer portal this offseason, joining Alabama’s Kendrick Law and Oklahoma’s J.J. Hester.
Kentucky’s 16-player transfer class is currently ranked No. 8 nationally by 247Sports. Stellato, a former standout at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was a top-250 prospect and the No. 32 wide receiver in the 2021 recruiting class per 247Sports.
