Bolton Wanderers player ratings in 2-0 win at Shrewsbury
Wanderers beat Shrewsbury 2-0 in the Carabao Cup second round – but how did we rate the players on the night?
LUKE SOUTHWOOD….6.5
Had very little to do but made a good save low to his left to keep out Marquis’ header in the first half.
CHRIS FORINO…7.5
Another promising showing from the towering defender, who nearly even got an assist for Dempsey after joining the attack.
RICARDO SANTOS…7
Good response from the skipper after a tough afternoon at Charlton. Had a chance to score in the first half but couldn’t put his header to the side of the goalkeeper.
GEORGE JOHNSTON…7
Another consistent display from the defender, who is exceeding expectations after such a long time out injured.
JORDI OSEI-TUTU…8
Provided a clinical finish to open his Bolton account and it was the least his performance deserved. His versatility is a useful trait to have.
GEORGE THOMASON…8
Impressive performance from the midfielder, who played a number of pinpoint passes and also did some good defensive work.
JAY MATETE…8
Another player who has given Evatt a selection headache for the weekend. Went on a brilliant run in the second half and was hauled down just before he broke into the box.
JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…7.5
Started despite picking up a minor knock at Charlton and had plenty of joy going forward, particularly in the first half.
KYLE DEMPSEY…7
Provided bags of energy as always and was given more freedom to make his mark in the final third. Was denied an early goal after a good save by Savin.
SCOTT ARFIELD…7
Constantly found himself in the thick of the action during the opening 45 minutes and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Forced off in the second half but hopefully it’s nothing serious.
DION CHARLES…7.5
Took his goal well and was unlucky with a similar chance on the stroke of half time, flashing just wide of the post.
