Previewing MK Dons’ home game against Swindon Town – kicking off at 3pm
A fourth straight win is on the cards for MK Dons when they host Swindon Town at Stadium MK this Saturday.
Wins over Morecambe, Accrington and Grimsby have helped Scott Lindsey’s side climb to ninth in the League Two table of late, now just a point outside the play-off spots.
Swindon arrive at Stadium MK sat 22nd in the division, with just one win in their last eight in League Two, but back-to-back cup wins this week in the FA Cup and BSM Trophy.
The Robins’ fanbase is no stranger to Dons boss Lindsey. The Dons boss was in charge at the County Ground from June 2022 until January 2023 when he left for Crawley Town, leaving Swindon in eighth at the time.
First team coach Ben Gladwin is also plenty familiar to Swindon, having spent four spells there during his career before hanging up his playing boots in the summer.
Dons and Swindon are certainly no strangers to one another either. Saturday’s encounter will be the 28th meeting between the sides, with Dons claiming 14 wins to Swindon’s seven since 2004.
Last season, Dons picked up six points against their Wiltshire opponents, with a 3-2 win at Stadium MK followed by a 2-1 win at the County Ground.
Swindon’s last in the fixture win came at Stadium MK in February 2019, courtesy of a 3-2 scoreline, but Dons have won four in a row against them since.
Former Dons striker Kabongo Tshimanga lines up for the Robins on loan from Chesterfield, and has scored twice in 12 outings since his summer move.
Referee Sunny Gill will take charge of the game. In his 11 matches this season, he has booked 39, sent one off and awarded three penalties. It will be his third game in charge of MK Dons, seeing them win twice and lose the other. The last time he took charge of one of their games, they beat rivals AFC Wimbledon 3-1 in Janaury this year.
Leigh Crowhurst and Dean Treleaven will run the lines with Fourth Official Grant Taylor.
Bookmakers bet365.com have MK Dons at 17/20 to win, with Swindon at 29/10 and 13/5 the draw.
