At the beginning of 2025 before Anaheim 1, Ken Roczen didn’t really seem to see himself as a title contender but his performances early that season showed that he and the Suzuki had the speed to be there until injury interrupted his plans.
Now, after two brilliant podiums showing searing speed but also a lot of calmness, Roczen is happy admit he is a title contender once again – but he knows he has to take it once race at a time and not get carried away.
Ken told us in San Diego when we asked if he felt he was a title contender this year: “Yeah. I mean, you know, last year was good until I got injured and I’m on my way again. So I’m just gonna take it race by race, day by day and see where I’m at. You know, things can happen real quick, but I’m in a good spot right now. And it is nice to be considered a title contender again, I guess, but try not to really listen to it and stay away from everything from all the drama and enjoy myself.“
Roczen has the all the talent in the world, trusts his Suzuki settings so much he hasn’t tested this winter and only adjusted clickers by two clicks! Roczen is comfortable with his bike, happy and relaxed, do not count him out in 2026, he looks to have all the pieces of the puzzle in place to launch a title charge.
If he was to find a way to win this title for the time in his thirties it would be one of the best stories in the history of this sport after that 2017 crash looked to end any hope of a Supercross title when he was right in the prime of his career. But Roczen still has a final chapter to write.
