A LARGE empty site that has planning permission for a major development has gone on the market with an asking price of £2.5 million.
The 4.1 acre site off Legrams Lane, next to Legrams Mill, has been empty for decades.
Two years ago, a planning application to build 17 industrial units on the site was approved by Bradford Council, one of the biggest employment sites approved in recent years.

Applicants Dadibhais (Bradford) Ltd said the development would provide “much-needed modern business units” for the city.
But since then there has been little progress on the development, and the huge site remains empty.
The plot of land has now been put on the market by Mark Brearley & Co Estate Agents with an asking price of £2.5m.
The listing highlights the site’s prime location, pointing out Bradford’s central location in the UK.
What 2023 application said
The plans that were approved in late 2023 were for the development of over 52,000 square foot of business space on the site.
The application said: “The land has been vacant for decades, and has unfortunately been subjected to fly tipping and antisocial behaviour, making it unsightly.
“We have been working hard to look at ways to develop the vacant land and help regenerate the area.
“Having explored various options, the site offers a great opportunity for much needed modern business /warehouse storage units.
“This will create business space and employment opportunities for the local community.”
Conditions placed on the development include that none of the units can be used for retail sales.
What the estate agent has said
The estate agent listing highlights Bradford’s central location to Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield, as well as Liverpool docks and Hull docks.
Promoting the significance of Bradford, the listing says: “With a population of over 528,000 it is the fourth largest metropolitan district and has the eighth largest economy in England, worth over £8.7 billion.
“Bradford is home to over 16,000 businesses employing around 250,000 people across the UK with a combined turnover of over £30 billion.
“It has been identified as the best place in Britain to start a business, as ranked by Barclays Bank SME Growth Factors Index and we were listed as one of the top 20 cities for business growth by the Sunday Times in 2020.
“Sector strengths include advanced engineering, chemicals, automotive components and food manufacture alongside financial services and digital technologies.”
