The Broncos’ bid for an NRL dynasty is dependent on Payne Haas re-signing and Brisbane will be hoping for a contract extension in their Christmas stocking.
Meanwhile, the Roosters are hoping Santa can deliver them the Daly Cherry-Evans of old, as they look to bid for a drought-breaking first title since 2019.
And the Rabbitohs need star recruit David Fifita to get back to the form that had him tipped to be the most dominant forward in the game to answer their Christmas wishes heading into 2026.
Read on for every NRL club’s Christmas wish.
BRONCOS
This one is potentially the most obvious on the list, but the Broncos will be hoping they can wrap Payne Haas up in a bow and hand him to Michael Maguire on the 25th of December.
The superstar prop fielded multimillion-dollar offers from R360, but that rebel competition was then delayed, leaving Brisbane in the box seat to retain his services while the Bears also loom as a potential threat.
Haas is the NRL’s premier forward and as such, Peter V’landys flew to Red Hill to meet with him and discuss his future.
To retain his services, the Broncos will have to break the bank, but there’s an argument to say Haas is worth every penny.
Haas was said to be set to make a call on his future before he reports for pre-season training and endures yet another gruelling Maguire regime.
It looks likely Haas will remain with the Broncos, but an official announcement shapes as the biggest present the club can receive this festive season.
