The Sydney Roosters have secured the services of one of their most versatile backs, with the club confirming today that Joseph Suaalii has agreed to a new three-year contract extension, keeping him in the Tricolours until the end of the 2028 season.
Known for his athleticism, skill, and ability to slot into multiple positions across the backline, Suaalii has proven to be a valuable asset for head coach Trent Robinson. Whether at fullback, centre, or wing, the 21-year-old has delivered consistent performances that have earned him praise from teammates and fans alike.
“Joey’s versatility and commitment to the team make him a really important part of our squad,” Robinson said. “He’s still so young but already plays with great maturity and professionalism. We’re excited to see him continue to grow in a Roosters jersey.”
Suaalii’s re-signing comes as the club looks to build long-term stability in its spine and outside backs, with several key players locked in for the coming seasons.
The deal is also a show of confidence from Suaalii, who has attracted attention from rival NRL clubs and rugby union alike. By committing to the Roosters, he signals his desire to remain part of a premiership-contending side and continue developing under Robinson’s leadership.
