One of 12 players farewelled by the St George Illawarra Dragons, forward Raymond Faitala-Mariner has reportedly been offered to several teams as he looks to secure a new contract for the 2026 season.
On the lookout for a new club, the 32-year-old has over 130 first-grade games to his name but spent the majority of this year’s campaign with the club’s reserve-grade outfit, only registering four NRL matches.
Coming to the end of his career, the versatile forward will add a wealth of knowledge and experience to any club he joins as he looks to continue his playing career.
Without a contract for next season, All Out Rugby League reports that Faitala-Mariner has been offered to multiple teams in the Super League competition by his management.
This comes as the overseas competition has increased the number of international quota players from seven to ten.
It is understood that the Sam Burgess-coached Warrington Wolves have emerged as the favourites to land his services following the retirement of former NRL back-rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon.
A dual international for Samoa (three matches) and New Zealand (one match), Faitala-Mariner debuted in 2015 and has held stints with the New Zealand Warriors, Canterbury Bulldogs and most recently the St George Illawarra Dragons.
An ex-captain of the Bulldogs, he featured in 24 matches for the Dragons over the past two seasons before his departure was confirmed at their presentation and club awards night.
